Running cost is fuel per hour, acres per hour, the labour each round replaces and a small servicing budget. Measure the first two on your own land. One customer reports roughly ₹300 of petrol for a day's work and about an acre an hour — his figures, not a specification. If the machine price is within one or two seasons of what you pay for weeding labour, it usually pays for itself.

Compare against labour, not against zero
A power weeder is not an extra expense on top of what you already spend. It replaces something — usually hired labour for inter-cultivation and weeding, sometimes a tractor pass that is too big for the job.
So the honest comparison is: what does one round of weeding cost you today in wages, and what would the same round cost in fuel and time with a machine you own?
The four numbers you need
- Fuel per hour. A small petrol engine sips fuel compared to a tractor. Run it for an hour, note the top-up, and you have a real figure for your soil and your operator.
- Acres per hour. This varies with row spacing, soil moisture and how skilled the operator is. Measure it once on your own land rather than trusting a brochure.
- Labour replaced. Count the day-wages that round would otherwise have cost, including the cost of finding people at short notice in peak season.
- Servicing. Air filter, oil, plug, blade wear. Small, predictable and easy to budget — but not zero.

What our customers report
One customer sums up his own maths in the video below: roughly ₹300 of petrol for a day's work, and about an acre an hour. Those are his figures on his land, not a specification — your soil, row spacing and operator will move them.
That is exactly why we point people at customer footage rather than at a spec sheet. The number that matters is the one on your own field.
The costs that do not show up in fuel
Timeliness is the one people underestimate. Weeding late costs yield, and if you depend on hired labour you weed when labour is available, not when the crop needs it. Owning the machine moves that decision back to you.
The second is who can operate it. A machine only one person can handle is idle whenever that person is not free. Several of our customers specifically mention that women and older family members handle the machine comfortably — that widens who can do the work.
A simple way to decide
Work out what one weeding round costs you in labour today. Multiply by the number of rounds in a season. If the machine cost is within one to two seasons of that figure, it usually pays for itself faster than people expect.
Call us with your acreage and crop and we will talk through which model fits — we would rather sell you the right one once.
Questions people ask
How much fuel does a power weeder use?
A small petrol engine uses far less than a tractor, but the real figure depends on your soil, row spacing and operator. Run it for an hour, note the top-up, and you have your own number. One customer on our channel reports roughly ₹300 of petrol for a day's work — his experience on his land.
How many acres can a power weeder cover in an hour?
It varies with row spacing, soil moisture and the operator's skill. The customer in the video above reports about an acre an hour on his field; measure it once on your own land rather than trusting a brochure.
